Job Purpose
|
| To develop creative, professional, and visually engaging designs that support GUtech and its group companies in branding, communication, marketing, academic, and promotional activities. The Designer contributes to strengthening the university’s reputation, stakeholder engagement, and communication effectiveness in alignment with GUtech’s strategic objectives and values. |

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
|
Graphic Design and Creative Services
- Design creative visual materials for print and digital platforms.
- Develop brochures, flyers, banners, posters, infographics, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Create visual content for university events, campaigns, exhibitions, conferences, and academic activities.
- Design social media graphics, advertisements, and communication materials.
- Produce branding and identity materials aligned with GUtech standards and guidelines.
- Support development of multimedia and digital communication assets.
Branding and Corporate Identity
- Ensure consistency of GUtech and subsidiary branding across all communication materials.
- Maintain and apply visual identity standards and brand guidelines.
- Support initiatives that enhance the university’s image and reputation.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure communication materials reflect institutional values and objectives.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Support
- Work closely with academic and administrative departments to understand design requirements.
- Coordinate with photographers, videographers, webmasters, and communication staff for integrated campaigns.
- Support students, staff, and external stakeholders with design-related requests.
- Participate in planning and execution of marketing and communication projects.
Digital and Media Support
- Prepare graphics and layouts for websites, digital screens, and online platforms.
- Assist in content adaptation for social media and digital marketing campaigns.
- Support multimedia production and editing activities were required.
- Ensure designs are optimized for both print and digital use.
Project and Production Management
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Coordinate with printing vendors and suppliers to ensure quality production.
- Review proofs and final outputs for accuracy and quality assurance.
- Maintain organized archives of design files and project materials.
- Monitor current design trends and recommend creative improvements.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all materials meet professional quality standards.
- Contribute innovative and creative ideas to enhance communication effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Media and Communication Unit.
- Adhere to university policies, ethical standards, and copyright requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Other duties assigned by the line manager.

Qualification, Experience and Skills
|
| Education/ Professional Qualification |
- Minimum Diploma degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
- Professional certifications in design software are an advantage.

| Work Experience |
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional design experience.
- Experience in higher education, media, marketing, or communication environments is preferred.
- Proven experience in print and digital design projects.

| Skills and competencies |
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, or equivalent).
- Strong creativity and visual communication skills.
- Knowledge of branding, typography, layout, and digital media design.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Photography, videography, or motion graphics skills are an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
