Project Title: Placer Deposits in Oman: Investigating Heavy Mineral Accumulations and Economic Potential

Project Description:

This project investigates the interaction between mineral accumulation and structural geology through the analysis of deformation patterns, fault and fracture systems, and their tectonic significance in a sector of NE of Oman. It combines field-based structural mapping and analytical techniques to characterize geological structures and assess their applied relevance. The results will support academic research, practical applications, and future
studies in applied geosciences.

RA Duties and Responsibilities:

– Assist in research related to structural geology, including the analysis of faults, folds, fractures, and tectonic structures.
-Support fieldwork activities, such as geological mapping, structural measurements, and
sample collection.
– Analyze and interpret geological data, including maps, cross-sections, and stereonets.
– Assist with laboratory work and basic rock or structural analysis, when required.
– Prepare figures, maps, datasets, and reports for research projects and publications.
– Support the preparation of research proposals, presentations, and scientific papers.
