Duties and responsibilities:

A Class Teacher of the Finland-Oman School is expected to be able to achieve the following outcomes:

  • To teach and educate students according to guidelines provided by FOS Curriculum Framework which is the combination of local curriculum and Finnish best practices.
  • To teach and educate students, according to their educational needs, abilities and help students to reach their full potential
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to all students in the class, using the best Finnish practices
  • Adopt and work towards the implementation of the school annual plan
  • To do team work and collaboration with other teachers / resource persons and other professionals working with students
  • Working as mentors to other teachers, to ensure Finnish pedagogy in FOS and advising and co-operating with
  • Participation in projects in accordance with FOS targets
  • Promote the well-being of individual students, groups of students or class entrusted to him/her
  • Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of the subjects
  • Participating in weekly staff, group or team meetings related to the school curriculum
  • Providing oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students or groups of students
  • Weekly home-school communication with parents
  • Running and planning after school activities
  • Substitution of other teachers as needed
  • Organizing and participating the school events
  • Student daily supervision
  • Any other duties allocated by school admin
