Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching Support
- Deliver and lead mathematics lectures, tutorials, and support sessions for foundation year students.
- Design and update lesson plans and teaching materials, rather than only assisting.
- Integrate technology and blended learning approaches in regular teaching practice.
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees.
- Contribute to curriculum development by suggesting improvements and implementing approved changes.
- Maintain high teaching quality and student engagement, setting a professional standard for classroom delivery.
- Assessment & Feedback
- Design and administer assessments (quizzes, exams, assignments) aligned with course learning outcomes.
- Grade student work using approved rubrics and ensure fairness and consistency.
- Provide constructive feedback to support student improvement and learning.
- Participate in moderation to maintain assessment standards across courses.
- Contribute to quality assurance by reviewing assessment practices and suggesting improvements.
- Student Support & Engagement
- Offer academic advising, office hours, and remedial support for foundation year students.
- Use LMS tools/analytics to monitor participation and performance; identify at‑risk learners and implement support plans.
- Coordinate tutorials and small-group support aligned with course outcomes; refer students to academic support services as needed.
- Curriculum Implementation & Quality Assurance
- Teach according to the syllabus and learning outcomes set by the institution and Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) standards.
- Ensure teaching practices meet institutional and national quality assurance frameworks (OAAA, Oman Vision 2040 goals).
- Participate in curriculum review meetings, suggest updates based on student performance and feedback.
- Engage in internal/external moderation to maintain consistency and reliability of grading.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and assessment data for audits and accreditation.
- Attend workshops and training on pedagogy, assessment, and QA processes.
- Collect and analyze student evaluations to improve teaching quality.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline (master’s degree is an advantage).
- Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent English language proficiency).
- Minimum 3–5 years with demonstrated leadership or coordination responsibilities (foundation, pre-university, or early undergraduate level).
- Strong knowledge of foundation-level mathematics (algebra, functions, trigonometry, basic calculus).
- Prior teaching, tutoring, or instructional support experience is preferred.
